Rock Climbing . . . As a real American Girl, without any lifeline !

● As you know, many French moved to Seattle and chose to live here. So I met plenty of them, usually their children go to the Northwest School, so they are numerous to propose us some activities. One week-end, I went to the Seattle Bouldering Project with a friend of mine. She is fourteen, but she is just one grade beneath mine, and she is very cool.

When you are done, you just cannot walk anymore, you are dirty and skinned, your muscles sore, and you even discover new muscles you didn't know they exusted in your body, that's both terrible and so cool. It's ascinating because you are on your own, you cannot have a rest with the lifeline, so you have to always focus on what you are doing, and that is really exhausting. But that makes you push yourself. A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

Her little borther, a master.

Then, you may prefer to go back the same âthway, but you are supposed to jump and let you drop on the safety cushion.

The most experienced of those who practice this . . . hobby, many equipment/tools shall be made available to practice and to make your fingers, your arms, or any specific part of your body stronger. Oh, and, yeah, of course, sometimes you can only clim with two fingers. If you can't, well, you fall.

Pretending it is so easyyyyy to climb this pathway. Since you have to stretch in a way which makes oyu look like an tiny genius, she tried to look like if she was one too. Looks like a Djinn, doesn't she ? O:

Very clever yep x'D And now what ?

Something else is, when you reach to the top, you can arrive on another platform, a kind of roof, or you can just face a big hole, a chasm. Very nice. Absolutely not scary AT ALL. So well, usually people do not clean the beams behind the climbing wall, so you can write your name with the dust.

These people were making fun of me, because it was hard to clim to the top, with a camera, without making it bang against the wall, probably because we were speaking Franglish too, but mostly because the little brother was just UNDER ME. I am not kidding, usually you are not allowed to do so because if the person who is climbing wants to fall because she cannot hold on anymore, you have to be far away from where she is. But he was just climbing to help me, or in case I would prefer to give him the camera or whatever. Anyway, it was so funny, but I was so afraid of hurting him than I told him he better go down, what he did.

Hello there ! There he is.

Well, they were probably laughing at us because I was taking picture of myself and I was probably talking in a panicked way, as I feared to fall or to let it go/give up and to hurt the brother.

So, the ghost was obviously for Halloween. They change the pathways every month, or almost,
and the less diffcult are the V0, the hardest ones are the v10

News From The Girl Who Went To NYC

So, here they are, pictures from my five-days trip to New York City. It was incredible, especially from the plane, because I could see all the big buildings. B-R-E-A-T-H-T-A-K-I-N-G.

● So we stayed at my host-mother's mother house, in the Upper-East side, in a cosy and very fancy appartment. Every morning, some croissants, bread and jam were waiting for us, and we went to some dinners and brunch, and the food was very high-quality and organic, so it was perfect.

We went to "Le Pain Quotidient" For breakfast with my family's friends, all from NYC.

Time Square. Hehe d:
Trump World Tower, highest residential building in New York. How do I know it ? Some guy just stopped and told that to me when he saw me taking a picture of it, that's it.

The UN headquarters, awesome, isn't it ?

 ● One day, we made a little excursion in Greenwich Village, mostly called "The Village"

This lovely italian coffee, Pagani, used to be a music-store, especially a guiter seller, just as this nice waitress told me. She even took me to the employees bathrooms downstairs, to show me the old bricks which still read PAGANI, as you can see above.

Central Park

Where John Lennon was shot.

● My family bought me a pass, so I could go to Ellis Island, to the MoMA, the Empire State Building and the MET. It was so cool !

I thought this emphasizes the horror of the event.
Survival Tree: survived 9/11, then was moved to Central Park, grew up again, and was returned to Ground Zero.

Well, we went to the 9/11 Memorial too, pretty moving.

Here are some pictures from the METropolitan Museum of Art

Some pictures from the top of the Empire State Building, after half an hour spent through security . . . Because, yeah, here, since you go to any monument, whatever it is, you have so much security, probably more than what you can meet at the airport, I mean it: they X-ray you, your stuff, twice, and you have to answer some questions about you . . . That's absolutely insane.

Here are few pictures from the Museum of Modern Art :

Edward Hopper, a painter whom we studied past year with my French teacher, and my management teacher probably heard about it too, if she sees this comment . . . (:

Here are some pictures from the subway and the e-train, from JFK International Airport to downtown, or almost.

So, as you probably guessed, that is tht Iphone we will be able to buy in France in about five months. It has been released n the US for two months . . . Just saying (:O

● Back to Seattle . . .

At my seat, and ready to take off ! Frenches should always think about bringing a bread-snack during flights.

Airways are usually so busy, that planes make circles before to land and to leave the "city zone".
