A Week-end in Whitbey, a week-end elsewhere.

● We went to Whitbey Island, because Friday 11th was kind of a day-off, so we had a three-days week-end. A friend of us invited a few of us in her house in Whitbey Island. We arrived on Friday afternoon and left on Saturday at 12:00am. We had a very great time, and, with Mélanie, we felt like in some american movie.

The ferry lasted half an hour, and the view was incredible, we could see both Seattle coast  and Whitbey coast.

● My friend's mum cooked scones, biscottis, toasts and she prepared tea and home-made jam . . . It was so delicious, and the house was so cosy, and the landscape was gorgeous and it just looked like unreal. Girls played music, american country music, and we had a rest. We had to prepare for the night !

● We went downtown, to a thriftshop, and I bought this sweatshirt for ten dollars, I love it because it is perfectly accorded to the atmosphere of this week-end : warm atmosphere, and it reminded me Christmas too. Here, a lot of people, well, okay, EVERY SINGLE PERSON have already been to a thriftshop, and most of them still go there to buy stuff. One of the girl even got a TommyHilfiger jacket for ten dollars. Oh my.

● Then we had pizzas for dinner. The Hawaïan with pineapple is my favorite, even if the veggie is pretty good too.

● Then girls took us to a game. A public high school game, it was awsome, with the cheerleaders, the brass brand and, of course, the footballers . . . What's more, it was homecoming, so we saw the King and the Queen of the Seniors. It was a crazy night, and we still felt like in some american show. The atmosphere was amazing.

● Then we went back home. The day after on the morning, we had an american breakfast, with toasts, omelets, bacon, bread, jam and chocolate cake !

All good things must come to an end.

● Then, go back to the jetty, and drove back home, because of HOMEWORK.

Second week of October . . . Only second Starbucks® ! & Secret buddy gift

● Basically, we were said we were going to get fat, to spend all our money in Starbucks Coffe blueberry muffins (my favorite ones, available only in England) and Classic Hot Chocolate. We definitely din't, and probably won't. Second week of October, we are in Seattle for a month and still just one Starbucks . . . What are we doing ? So we went there to do french homework. Yeah, we feel inspired for writing philosophy essays there. Just kidding, we were hungry and needed some place to motivate us.

 ● Another reason I came to Starbucks was because I needed to buy my secret buddy a gift. Okay, let's explain the thing. In the XC team, we all have a secret buddy, it's a person who doesn't know she is your secret "pal" or "friend". Everytime we have an official race, we have to buy her a gift, it's usually some food, drinks, maybe some stuff. You give the stuff you bought to someonelse who will give it to your secret body.
It's such a great thing ! I already got some pink socks from the Northwest from the person I am the secret buddy and a box of tea. I love when there is a message on it, it helps you a lot and it is a very kind though and made me heartened (:

And I had !

Week 4 - Mélanie

~ In Ceramic's class since the beginning of September, I have to make a tiger. Here's a picture of my work, but I'll post another one when it will be finished.

~ Last saturday, I went to a German restaurant with my host family, where we could play to "pétanque". I had fun!

~ Just after the game, we went to the 'Lemieux Library' which is a Libraby with a lot of masterpiece, sculpture, etc. This one is from Joe McDonnell :

~ Finally, here is a picture I took from the Green Lake :

Go shopping . . .And A few pictures downtown

I chose to go to Seattle during Autumn because I love fall colours.

In Seattle, there are a lot of hills, so going downtown means hiking.
● My family is a very healthy family, just like you have to be when you are a real Seattleite.
So they cook with veggies, beans, berries, and so on and so forth.
But, back from XC ( stand for Cross Country (; ),  I and my host sister usually make oatmeal cookies, which is healthy and nutritious, but not very light . . . Nevermind. We love it (:
